Book Review of Sapiens
Sapiens: A brief history of humankind, as the title suggests the book talks about the history of humankind along with the evolutions that have happened on Earth. If we believe and certainly, we do that the Big bang actually happened, then this book talks about history since the beginning of time.
Going back to 13.5 billion years ago, the earth was all about physics that included energy and matter. And 13 billion years ago, the molecules happened to be the beginning of chemistry. But, biology’s emergence on this planet began 3.8 billion years ago after the emergence of organisms on earth. These changes were huge and took a lot of time.
Along with the other organisms, the mammals like chimpanzees exist. But for the first time, humans evolved when 6 million years ago, chimpanzees and humans shared their last common grandmother.
During the time period, 2.5 million years ago, the evolution of Genus Hom took place. It was the genus that emerged in the genes of Australopithecus (Ape) that encompasses the extant species of Homo sapiens. That way Homo Species spread from Africa to Eurasia, 2 million years ago. These Homo species that existed were: Homo Neanderthals, Homo erectus, Homo Solensis, and many others. They were found in Cold areas of Europe, Tropical areas of Asia, and islands of Indonesia respectively.
This book perfectly explains human history with a timeline that is assisted with the facts and archeological research and it might be very hard to argue with such information. Human history is broken down into 4 categories in this book, i.e., The cognitive revolution, The Agricultural revolution, The unification of humankind, and The Scientific revolution.
